The latest data from Statistics Canada (2025) shows that an overwhelming 98.5% of the province’s 19,055 businesses are small, employing between 1 and 99 people. This high density of entrepreneurship is reflected in the ratio of 27.9 businesses per 1,000 aged 18 years and older.
