Association for New Canadians (ANC) – English Language Training
The ANC offers free English language training for permanent residents in Newfoundland and Labrador. Programs include full-time and part-time classes, evening conversation sessions, and online options like the LINC Home Study. Placement is based on the Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Test (CLBPT), which assesses listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

YMCA Newfoundland & Labrador – Conversation Café
The YMCA offers weekly informal conversation classes to help participants develop their English-speaking skills. Sessions are held at the Ches Penney Family YMCA in St. John’s and are open to post-secondary international students and temporary foreign workers.
